Left behind
Left Behind is an investigation about adding value to the left over materials created in the production of clogs, as well as finding a way to leave my designer’s guilt behind.
Segments
In this project I experimented with recycled plastic bottles and 3D printed parts in the hope to bring light to a new way of perceiving and reusing these plastic elements in a more sophisticated, but playful way.
Pebble
The pebble is an object that can be used in many different ways. It is a sitting object, but also a shelving system, a table, a bench. It consists of two L-shapes that can be taken alone and rearranged to make what the user wants.
event work
I have been working with music event organizers FRQNZY and Transpose in order to create designs for their house and techno events. During the planning, I closely worked with the event teams to design something that can be built on a budget, as well as fits to their aesthetic.
sound and movement
In this project I worked on adding an extra layer of sound to very common objects where function, movement and sound already intertwine.
caterpillar
This project is about collapsibles and how Origami patterns can be tranfsormed and given new life by using hard materials.
Refraction
In this project I worked on a light installation in collaboration with Cerian. We decided to look at refraction as a starting point for our experimentation to see how different materials create a different projection and how the movement creates an interesting image. This shows the process of experimentation and the conceptualization of the installation.
Big step folly
In a project week I worked together with other students as a group of four to build a Folly out of old left over wood, on the property of a former water treatment plant in Slochteren, Netherlands.
Collapsible lounge-Chair
In Project Week we had 1 week to take solid wood from a tree, cut it to the right size, planing the wood and use it to make a chair. We had to come up with a design and make it with the material provided!
Etudes
In this project I collected waste materials I thought were interesting and experimented with different ways of combining them without using glue, screws, or nails.
